Welcome to the Home page of the VLSI Research Group of the University of Toronto.

The VLSI Research Group consists of fifteen members of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, some with cross-appointments to the Department of Computer Science. The objectives of the Group are to investigate aspects of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration, or Microelectronics) technology and its impact on modern electronic device, circuit and system design, including the development of software and hardware for design automation as well as the implementation of large electronic systems on silicon and gallium arsenide.

The VLSI research program at the University of Toronto is recognized internationally. Evidence of this recognition includes:

The research program covers the complete spectrum of VLSI research including: device, circuit and system design, as well as software for IC design. A full array of courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels is offered to support this research program.
